1. Enhance paper whiteness and opacity

The whiteness of calcined kaolin can reach over 90% (much higher than that of uncalcined kaolin), and the particles are fine (usually 200-1000 mesh), which can be evenly dispersed between fibers, reflecting light and blocking the text or patterns on the back of the paper page. It is particularly suitable for cultural papers (such as newsprint, writing paper) and packaging papers, reducing the problem of paper transparency.

2. Improve paper smoothness and printing suitability

Its particles are in the form of flakes or pseudo-hexagonal sheet-like structures. After filling the gaps between fibers, it can make the surface of the paper page smoother, reduce ink consumption during printing, enhance the clarity of graphics and text, and is suitable for coated paper bases with high printing quality requirements.

3. Reduce production costs

Compared to other fillers (such as titanium dioxide), calcined kaolin has a lower price and can be added at a rate of 10% to 30% of the paper weight. This not only ensures the performance of the paper but also reduces the usage of fiber raw materials (such as wood pulp), thereby lowering production costs.

4. Optimize the physical properties of paper

Appropriate addition can enhance the density and stiffness of the paper, reduce its moisture absorption, and extend the storage time of the paper. This is suitable for archival paper, book paper, and other types of paper that need to be preserved for a long time.
