Wollastonite powder, as a mineral powder widely used in the industrial field, has many unique properties. Its chemical formula is CaSiO3, and its structural formula is Ca3[Si3O9]. The theoretical chemical composition includes 48.25% CaO and 51.75% SiO2. The density is 2.75 - 3.10 g/cm3, which is relatively moderate. It also has good cleavage properties, with cleavage parallel to {100} being complete, parallel to {001} being moderate, and the intersection angle of the two cleavage planes being 74°. These cleavage characteristics play an important role in some processing procedures.
In terms of chemical properties: Wollastonite powder exhibits good chemical stability. Generally, it can withstand the corrosion of acids, alkalis, and various chemical substances, and this characteristic enables it to be widely used in many chemical industrial environments. Its hygroscopicity is less than 4%, and its oil absorption is also low, meaning it is not prone to absorbing water and oil, and can maintain its own property stability in relatively humid or oily environments. Its electrical conductivity is low, and its insulation is good, which makes wollastonite powder have important application value in electrical insulation materials and other fields.
