Application

1. Suitable for non-sand casting of cast steel, cast iron, alloys, and colored alloys.

2. Core making using resins such as furnace resin, alkaline phenolic resin, and sodium silicate.

3. High-alloy cast steel and carbon steel.

4. Low-carbon steel and stainless steel valve parts.

5. Stainless steel, manganese steel, and high-chromium cast iron.

Characteristic

1. The melting point is over 1800℃.

2. It has good fluidity and a low edge angle coefficient.

3. It is suitable for the appropriate particle size distribution of most casting techniques.

4. Low humidity.

5. Low thermal expansion rate.

6. Good thermal conductivity and good air permeability.

7. High bending strength and pressing strength.

Key Properties and Benefits of Ceramic Sand
  • High Refractoriness:
Ceramic sand can withstand very high temperatures, making it suitable for casting various metals, including steel and iron.
  • Spherical Shape:
The spherical shape of ceramic sand particles provides excellent flowability and packing, which leads to better mold filling and improved surface finish of castings.
  • Low Thermal Expansion:
Ceramic sand's low thermal expansion minimizes defects like cracking and warping in castings, particularly in high-temperature applications.
  • High Reclamation Rate:
It can be recycled and reused multiple times, reducing material costs and waste.
  • Reduced Binder Usage:
In some foundry processes, ceramic sand requires less binder than silica sand, leading to lower gas evolution during casting and improved casting quality.
  • Versatility:
Ceramic sand can be used in various foundry processes, including no-bake molding, resin coated sand cores, and lost foam casting.
  • Good Permeability and Flowability:
This allows for efficient venting of gases during casting and easier mold filling.
