Brown Fused Alumina

Brown Fused Alumina, also known as diamond dust in common parlance, is a brown artificial fused alumina  produced by melting and reducing three raw materials - kaolin, carbonaceous materials and iron filings - in an electric arc furnace. Hence, it is named so.

1. It is used for manufacturing high-grade refractory materials, casting materials, refractory bricks, etc.

2. Sandblasting - The abrasive has moderate hardness, high bulk density, no free silica, high specific gravity, and good toughness. It is an ideal "environmentally friendly" sandblasting material and is widely used in fields such as aluminum profiles, copper profiles, glass, washed denim clothing, and precision molds.

3. Free Grinding - Grinding-grade abrasive materials are used for free grinding in various fields such as cathode ray tubes, optical glass, single-crystal silicon, lenses, watch glass, crystal glass, and jade. They are widely adopted as advanced grinding materials in China.

4. Resin grinding tools - The abrasive material has appropriate color, good hardness, toughness, suitable particle cross-sectional type and edge retention degree. When applied to resin grinding tools, the effect is ideal.

5. Coated abrasive tools - The abrasive materials are produced by manufacturers of sandpaper and abrasive cloth.

6. Functional fillers - Primarily used in automotive brake components, special tires, and special construction products. They can also be used as wear-resistant materials for building highways, aircraft runways, docks, parking lots, industrial floors, and sports fields.

7. Filter medium - This is a new application field for abrasive materials. Using granular abrasive as the underlying medium of the filter bed, it can purify drinking water or wastewater. It is a new type of water filtration material both at home and abroad, and is particularly suitable for non-ferrous metal mining, and oil drilling mud weighting agents.

8. Hydraulic Cutting - This method uses abrasive materials as the cutting medium and relies on high-pressure water jets for basic cutting. It is applied to the cutting of components such as oil (natural gas) pipelines and steel materials. It is a new, environmentally friendly, and safe cutting method.
