Ceramic sand isa specialized type of sand used in foundry applications, known for its high refractoriness, spherical shape, and low thermal expansion. It's a manufactured product, often made from fused bauxite, and offers several advantages over traditional silica sand in casting processes.

Application 



  • Widely used in foundry technique like resinbonded sand, sodium silicate sand, and clay-bonded sand for sand core and casting mould making

  • Replace chromite sand and widely used in sand core making like jacket core, oil duct core, tappet core of engine

  • Replace chromite sand for steel casting facing sand and sub-layer of molding sand (backing sand)

  • Widely used as dry sand and sand box for EPC process and V method of casting processes

  • Widely used as the main raw materials of advanced refractory products (Ladle drainage sand,gravity casting material, casting coating, etc.)

  • Widely used as cleaning sand for copper and aluminum alloy castings



Characteristic


1. The melting point is over 1800℃.

2. It has good fluidity and a low edge angle coefficient.

3. It is suitable for the appropriate particle size distribution of most casting techniques.

4. Low humidity.

5. Low thermal expansion rate.

6. Good thermal conductivity and good air permeability.

7. High bending strength and pressing strength.
