Sodium Tripolyphosphate STPP Industrial/Food/Detergent Grade

Sodium Tripolyphosphate has two crystalline forms, namely phase I (high temperature phase) and phase II (low temperature phase). The chemical properties of the two phases are the same, and the difference between them lies in the thermostability, hygroscopicity, solubility and hydration heat when dissolving.

Sodium tripolyphosphate has chelating, suspension, dispersion, colloidal solution, emulsification, pH buffer and other functions, can be used as synthetic detergent main additives, industrial water softener, tanning agent, dyeing agent, organic synthesis catalyst, pharmaceutical industry dispersants and food additives. In addition to export STPP, domestic STPP consumption is mainly concentrated in the detergent industry, food, ceramics and so on.

1.Detergent Additives: Sodium tripolyphosphate is one of the most important additives in the detergent industry. It significantly enhances the cleaning effect of detergents by chelating heavy metal ions, dissociating dirt, and adjusting pH. However, it should be noted that due to the restrictions of environmental protection policies, the application of sodium tripolyphosphate in detergents is gradually decreasing and is being replaced by other environmentally friendly additives.

2.Food industry quality improvement agent: In the food industry, sodium tripolyphosphate is used as a quality improvement agent for canned goods, fruit juice drinks, dairy products, soy milk and other products. It can improve the knot strength and water holding of food, make food taste better, texture more delicate.

3.Tanning process: STPP also plays a key role, which helps to improve the quality and efficiency of leather handling. In addition, it is used as a dyeing aid to help the dye adhere evenly to the fabric and ensure the brightness of the colors. In the industrial production of paint, kaolin, magnesium oxide and calcium carbonate, STPP can effectively disperse these substances and improve the stability and fluidity of the mixture as a suspension agent.

4.Treatment of drilling mud: STPP also plays an important role in dispersing mud and preventing precipitation. In the paper industry, it acts as an anti-oil stain agent, which can prevent the influence of oil stain on the quality of paper. In the food industry, STPP is used to improve the quality of canned products, fruit juice drinks, dairy products and soy milk. It can be used as a tenderizer to make canned ham softer, and can also be used as a softener and thickener to enhance the taste and water retention of food.
